Nylon 3D Printing
The mechanical powerhouse. Exceptional strength, wear resistance, and flexibility for demanding engineering applications.
Faigh LuachanWhat is Nylon (PA)?
Nylon, or Polyamide (PA), is one of the most versatile engineering thermoplastics. It combines high tensile strength (85 MPa), excellent wear resistance, and good chemical stability. Its natural flexibility makes it ideal for living hinges and snap-fit assemblies.
FDM-printed Nylon produces parts that rival injection-molded components in strength and durability. With a heat deflection temperature of 180°C, Nylon parts perform in high-temperature environments where other plastics fail.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Nylon waterproof?
Nylon absorbs moisture (up to 2.5% by weight), which can affect dimensions. For water-resistant applications, we recommend sealing or using PA-GF.
How does FDM Nylon compare to SLS PA12?
FDM Nylon is stronger (85 vs 48 MPa) but has more visible layer lines. SLS PA12 produces isotropic parts with complex geometries. We offer both.
Can Nylon parts replace metal components?
In many applications, yes. Nylon gears, bearings, and brackets can replace aluminum or steel with significant weight savings.
What is the maximum operating temperature?
Nylon has a heat deflection temperature of 180°C, making it suitable for under-hood automotive, industrial equipment, and hot-fluid systems.
Is Nylon difficult to print?
Nylon requires controlled chamber temperatures and dry filament. Our industrial machines handle these requirements automatically for consistent results.
