Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol (PETG) combines the ease of printing of PLA with significantly better mechanical and chemical properties. It offers excellent layer adhesion, making parts nearly isotropic in strength.
PETG is the preferred choice for functional prototypes and end-use parts that require chemical resistance, moderate heat tolerance, and good impact strength. It is also one of the few FDM materials considered food-safe when printed with appropriate settings.

Is PETG really food-safe?
PETG is FDA-approved as a raw material. For food contact, we print with food-safe nozzles and recommend smooth surface finishing.
How does PETG compare to PLA?
PETG is tougher and more heat-resistant (70°C vs 52°C), with better chemical resistance. PLA is easier to print with finer details.
Can PETG be used for outdoor applications?
PETG has moderate UV stability and weathering resistance. For prolonged outdoor exposure, ASA is a better choice.
What chemical can PETG resist?
PETG resists dilute acids, alkalis, alcohols, and many household chemicals. It is not resistant to acetone or strong solvents.
Is PETG recyclable?
Yes, PETG is fully recyclable (resin code #1). Failed prints and support material can be recycled through standard PET recycling streams.
